La capacità di comprendere il luogo non è solo legata alla mera osservazione quale atto dovuto, bensì dalla volontà sincera di scovare l’angolo non comune, l’istante fuggito alla superficialità quale vittima del frenetico vivere alla ricerca del “di più” per avere sempre un poco meno.

Orosei è una cittadina antichissima fondata nel II secolo, di origine romana e originata da un precedente stanziamento nuragico. Oltre i sapienti restauri e ristrutturazioni nel rispetto dell’architettura e dei materiali dell’epoca, da subito si percepisce una accoglienza rispettosa, si è aggraziati dagli spazi verdi e cordialità locale; fanno da cornice edifici e la molteplice presenza di antichissime chiese che stregano l’attenzione: la curiosità d’un bambino si impossessa del subconscio e spinge, passo dopo passo, a valicare l’angolo storico successivo tra le strade pavimentate con lastre di basalto, sgranocchiando la tradizione sarda ed il “pane carasau”, un pane di semolato rimacinato di grano duro che impedisce l’arresto a cotanta fame di conoscenza, incitando al passo successivo.

Orosei, capoluogo della Baronia Meridionale e chiamata Fanum Carisi dagli antichi romani, ha subìto molte influenze straniere che si riflettono nelle architetture cittadine: nel dodicesimo secolo era una influentissima sede della Curia del Giudicato di Gallura, poi conquistata nel 1409 dagli Aragonesi dopo la cacciata locale della Repubblica di Pisa; nei secoli successivi è stata ostaggio di malaria e invasioni dei pirati arabi; nel 1927 passò dalla provincia di Sassari a quella di Nuoro. Le costanti infiltrazioni di culture e tradizioni di popoli diseguali hanno arricchito Orosei tanto da amarla, così come è, ricca e mascherata dietro la discreta anima sarda gelosa dei propri tesori ma audace e generosa con coloro che rispettano i sacrifici e le sofferenze trascorse.

La presenza di vento non ha infastidito la naturale attrazione che ha partorito un nuovo guizzo, al cuore.
